About the Owner

Chris Leeper is a composer/arranger, educator, and multi-instrumentalist from Hickory, NC. In 2019, Chris completed bachelor’s degrees in Music and Music Education at Western Carolina University. During his time there, he also recieved a certificate in music technology, focusing primarily on composition and audio production.

As a composer and arranger, Chris has written works that have been performed by ensembles such as the WCU Wind Ensemble and Trumpet Ensemble, as well as the Hickory High School Marching, Concert, and Jazz bands. Other groups that have used Chris's works and services include the band programs at Tuscola High School, Salisbury High School, North Wilkes High School, and Enka High School.

While attending Western Carolina University, Chris found as many opportunities to make music as he could, playing with groups such as the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Trumpet Ensemble, Catamount Singers and Electric Soul, and numerous others. He also served as trumpet section leader for the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band for three years.

Currently, Chris works as a music and visual instructor for the Hickory High School Band, and is an active performing musician throughout the WNC area. Chris has played with notable groups such as the Asheville Jazz Orchestra, Frank Love Orchestra, Blue Ridge Big Band, and Denver and the Mile High Orchestra.

Over the years, performing with and writing for so many different types of ensembles has given Chris an expansive understanding of how to create unique and impactful musical works across a wide variety of genres. He strives to create music that is enjoyable for both the listener and the performer.
